Not All Administrative Conferences Are Created Equal

All administrative and executive assistant conferences are not created equal. Today, you have many options when it comes to selecting an administrative conference. While they may look very similar at first glance, the experience and depth of knowledge can be very different. When you are deciding which administrative conference to attend, you need to do your homework and dig deep.

Let me give you a personal example. For several years, I attended the big training industry conference which is great and vital to the work I do. The annual training and development convention/conference is huge–over 8,000 attendees; 700 exhibits; hundreds of speakers and concurrent sessions. But it is also overwhelming and I hate having to choose between so many concurrent sessions. I have also attended the professional speakers annual conferences where there are about 2,000 attendees, exhibits and multiple concurrent sessions. Once again, I am torn with choosing which concurrent session I want to attend and I get lost in the crowd.

This  past April I attended a very intimate learning event in Nashville held by Dave Ramsey. There were only 165 attendees; no concurrent sessions and no exhibitors. It was the most incredible learning experience of my life! I felt so connected to the Dave Ramsey team. I felt like a VIP and the staff knew me. Focusing on one key speaker throughout the entire day was so beneficial and I liked not running all over the place.
